Urban Meyer turned 51 years old on Friday, and it probably was a happy birthday for the Ohio State coach.
After all, the view is nice from the top, and that’s where the Buckeyes and Meyer are these days.
His Buckeyes are the reigning national champions, winning the first College Football Playoff after overcoming a dizzying amount of adversity. His 2015 team is loaded and almost certainly will be ranked No.1 entering the season.
As for Meyer, even at his relatively young age, his resume already is approaching the best in college football history.
Consider: Meyer ranks fourth all time among coaches with at least 10 years of Football Bowl Subdivision experience with a winning percentage of 84.
