On Friday morning, little over 25 hours before his team was to take the field in their season opener against the Oregon State Beavers, suspended Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer again took to Twitter to defend himself against allegations surrounding the recently concluded investigation into how he handled allegations of domestic violence against now-fired assistant coach Zach Smith.
Meyer, who will be able to return to his team— although not for games— beginning on Monday, issued a statement in which he quoted the investigative report and Ohio State president Michael V. Drakes statements that he believes confirm that he did not condone Smith’s behavior or that he lied at Big Ten Media Days.
