It didn’t take long, but just over two weeks after his college coaching career ended former Ohio State Buckeyes’ head man Urban Meyer is reportedly close to signing a deal with Fox Sports to be the networks lead college football analyst.
According to a report by The Sporting News’ Michael McCarthy, Meyer will have the option of either doing color commentating for FOX broadcasts, or to be one of the network’s studio analysts. With FOX jumping into college football more in recent years, especially with its deal with the Big Ten, a source told McCarthy that Meyer would be the network’s way to add top-level credibility to its college football program in efforts to raise its profile to the level of ESPN’s “College GameDay.
