The state of Ohio will soon select 24 applicants out of a field of 185 to cultivate medical marijuana, which Governor John Kasich signed into law last June.
As first reported by Tom Knox of Columbus Business First, former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith (right), Cleveland Glenville High School coach Ted Ginn Sr. (center), and former Cleveland Browns playmaker Eric Metcalf (left) are hoping to wade into the weed game.
The trio hope to bring a dispensary to the Cleveland area by attending a state hearing in the Columbus suburb of Reynoldsburg on Tuesday.
