Former Ohio State center Tom DeLeone passed away on Sunday after a battle with cancer. He was 65 years old. DeLeone was an All-American for the Buckeyes and a Pro Bowl center for the Cleveland Browns.
In 1970, his first season starting at center, the Buckeyes won their fifth and final national title under the great Woody Hayes. DeLeone was selected first team All-American the following season.
He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL draft. Deleone was a journeyman center until he landed on the Cleveland Browns roster during the 1974 season.
