The regular season is over and it's time for the Ohio State Buckeyes to prepare for the postseason. The team will meet the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Fiesta Bowl on January 1, 2016. Falling just short of making the College Football Playoffs, this will be the last game in scarlet and gray for the seniors and younger players declaring for the draft -- which may be more than a few.
The two last met in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl, with the Buckeyes coming out on top, 34-20. This game was what vaulted quarterback Troy Smith into the spotlight for the Heisman Trophy the next season, having completed 19 of 28 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns against the Fighting Irish.
