Ray: I was disappointed to read of Thad Matta’s delight with D’Angelo Russell’s turning pro after only one year at the OSU factory. Would you not think that Thad would want to see his freshman phenom spend at least one more year in college to become more mature?
We have hard evidence of other gifted athletes making a name for one or two years and signing rich contracts, but not really being happy or developing into solid citizens.
How about Byron Mullens, Greg Oden and the other “one-and-doners?” Have they really been happy playing ball in several countries and for countless teams.
