Soccer | Ohio State men advance, women fall in NCAAs

Ohio State advanced to the round of 16 with shootout victory over Dayton in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. After the teams ended double overtime in a 1-1 draw, the Buckeyes (13-6-3) prevailed 4-3 in penalty kicks.

Goalkeeper Chris Froschauer made the decisive stop after Kyle Culbertson put the Buckeyes up 4-3. Danny Jensen tied the score at 1 in the 72nd minute after the Flyers (13-5-5) took the lead in the 49th minute.

• The OSU women’s team had its NCAA tournament run end with a 4-0 loss to Penn State in a Sweet 16 game in State College, Pa.
