Ryan Day and the 2024 Buckeyes Cement Themselves in Ohio State Football History With National Championship Win Over Notre Dame

With the field still covered in confetti from Ohio State's national championship celebration, Eleven Warriors editor Dan Hope and reporters Andy Anders and Chase Brown recapped the team's win over Notre Dame.

Now a winner of nine national titles all-time, the Buckeyes took the first blow in the contest, allowing the Irish to record an 18-play, 75-yard scoring drive on their opening possession, one which took almost 10 minutes off the clock. Ohio State responded with touchdowns on each of their first four drives, scoring 31 unanswered points to pull out to a massive lead. Notre Dame didn't go down without a fight, scoring touchdowns on two of its final four complete drives to keep the game interesting, but the Buckeyes were able to celebrate their championship on the sidelines with 26 seconds left after Jayden Fielding nailed a 33-yard field goal that gave the Buckeyes a 34-23 lead.
