Don’t be fooled by Thad Matta’s more casual clothing look. Given what his Baby Buckeyes might put him through this year, the Ohio State coach’s decision on Sunday afternoon to wear an open-collar shirt without a tie had as much to do with self-preservation as style.
“I went with it because I thought I may hang myself at some point this season, so I said I better not wear (a tie) to start,” Matta deadpanned. “Let’s see how it goes.”
Ohio State opened its 2015-16 season on Sunday by laying a 76-54 thumping on Mount St. Mary’s in Value City Arena.
