The college basketball season is not even complete and four of the five players from the highly ranked 2015 recruiting class brought in by Ohio State coach Thad Matta already are out the door.
JaQuan Lyle is the lone freshman to stick with the program, which is almost as surprising as the exit this week of Daniel Giddens, A.J. Harris and Mickey Mitchell; the departure of freshman Austin Grandstaff came in December. Only a few months ago, Lyle seemed the most likely of the first-year Buckeyes to transfer. Go figure.
What is going on? Reasonable explanation or not, the exodus does not look good for Matta or the program.
