Rob Oller commentary | Chris Jent can be great salesman for Ohio State basketball

Chris Jent is a pebble dropped into the Ohio State men’s basketball pond, creating ripples that could crest into a powerful wave for the program.

The former Buckeyes forward (1988-92) will begin his second stint as an assistant coach at his alma mater on Monday — he also worked under coach Thad Matta for two seasons from 2011 to '13 — by immediately hitting the recruiting trail. And that’s where we’ll begin, with recruiting.

Jent owns an NBA championship ring from when he played for the Houston Rockets in 1994. That will preach. The 46-year-old played overseas in Australia, Italy, Spain and Greece.
