COLUMBUS, Ohio -- We all knew Vonn Bell was a play maker. He makes plays.
Now he's a tree planter. He plants trees.
The junior safety was named a first-team All-American by Sports Illustrated on Thursday, which means he'll have a tree planted for him in Ohio State's Buckeye Grove.
Whenever a Buckeye is named a first-team All-American, it's the tree that really matters.
All it requires is one first-team selection by a major national organization, and that tree is earned. Some great Buckeyes who were All-Big Ten players and well-known stars never quite achieved that distinction.
