Former Ohio State offensive tackle Mike Adams' time with the Pittsburgh Steelers is over after four seasons. The Steelers, who drafted Adams in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, released him with a designation of "failed physical," the franchise announced Thursday.
Adams was set to earn close to $1.3 million in the final year of his rookie contract.
The Steelers placed him on the physically unable to perform list in August 2015 before ultimately rendering him to the injured reserved list after an ankle injury in 2015. The Steelers are the only team for which Adams has played in his career.
