Nearly 12 hours after the Board of Trustees met to discuss the findings of the investigation of Ohio State Buckeyes football coach Urban Meyer, a decision was found: a suspension until Sept. 2, and being suspended from coaching in the first three OSU football games.
Additionally, athletic director Gene Smith is suspended from Aug. 31-Sept. 16.
The investigation, led by former Security and Exchange Commission chair Mary Jo White, concluded that both head coach and AD did not cover-up or condone the conduct of former wide receiver coach Zach Smith, but that both “failed to take sufficient management action relating to Zach Smith’s misconduct.
