NORMAN, Okla. — As a high school football coach in Ohio, Buddy White is a big Urban Meyer fan. So there’s no doubt which team he rooted for when Ohio State played at Oklahoma.
But White, the veteran coach at Reynoldsburg High School, also had a favorite player on the field Saturday night — Sooners junior linebacker Emmanuel Beal.
“I’m an Urban guy for sure, but I can’t tell you how proud we all are of Emmanuel,” White said. “I want him to do whatever he can to best represent his family and Reynoldsburg.”
Beal has represented himself well in his first year in Norman.
