Pat Elflein could have quite the trophy case whenever his college football career ends.
Ohio State's redshirt senior captain is one of three finalists for the 2016 Rimington Trophy, given annually to college football's most outstanding center. The Rimington Trophy Committee made the announcement on Monday.
The other finalists for the trophy are LSU's Ethan Pocic and West Virginia's Tyler Orlosky.
Elflein was named the Big Ten's Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year last week in addition to first team all-conference for the third straight season. He has started 40 straight games on Ohio State's offensive line and represents the fulcrum of any and all the Buckeyes do on offense, helping pave the way for the conference's best rushing attack.
