COLUMBUS, Ohio -- On the six-year anniversary of his last appearance in a press box calling plays, Ed Warinner went back upstairs and left little doubt that was exactly where he belonged with Ohio State.
The Buckeyes double-checked just to be sure by leaving the offensive coordinator there again in the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl, and another explosive, high-scoring performance with Warinner pulling the strings from on high made it clear that’s where he needed to stay.
Keeping him there, though, required a bit of reshuffling elsewhere on Urban Meyer’s staff. And in going out to hire respected offensive line coach Greg Studrawa and reassigning Tim Hinton to an off-the-field role, Meyer has clearly fortified his staff once again thanks in large part to his establishing a new, permanent home for Warinner.
