Ohio State released a short statement Monday morning before Urban Meyer's weekly OSU football press conference.
The statement reads in its entirety:
Ohio State red-shirt freshman wide receiver Torrance Gibson has been suspended from The Ohio State University for the 2016 fall semester for a violation of the University's student code of conduct.
The specifics of the circumstances surrounding his suspension was not made available.
While transitioning from highly touted high school prep quarterback to wide receiver, Gibson sat out his freshman season. There had been rumblings of a potential transfer, but after sticking around in Columbus, Gibson looked ready to make an impact with his dynamic athleticism and improvements at the receiver position.
