Kianna Holland watched uneasily from the bench while Ohio State lost to No. 3 Notre Dame on Wednesday because she was unable to do anything about it other than play the cheerleader.
The redshirt freshman guard was sitting out a fifth consecutive game because of soreness in her surgically repaired right knee.
Holland expects to return to the court today when the 10th-ranked Buckeyes (4-3) play at Cincinnati (3-3).
“I’m super-excited to be back,” she said. “I’ve missed it so much.”
A co-captain, Holland sat out last season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.
