The Ohio State tour of the past season’s Final Four reaches the three-quarter pole tonight at Notre Dame in an ACC/Big Ten Women’s Challenge game.
Buckeyes coach Kevin McGuff scheduled No. 2 South Carolina and No. 1 Connecticut to start the season before the challenge game was announced.
The 10th-ranked Buckeyes (4-2) lost a competitive road game against the Gamecocks before getting trounced by UConn at home. A four-game winning streak has followed, including Saturday’s come-from-behind 95-80 victory over then-10th-ranked Texas A&M in Las Vegas.
The Fighting Irish (6-0) are ranked No. 3.
“As much as has been made about the hard schedule we’ve played, now we need to defeat one of those teams,” said McGuff, citing the importance of taking down the Aggies on a neutral court.
