Kelsey Mitchell and Ameryst Alston combined to score 52 points and led fifth-ranked Ohio State past Purdue 90-70 in a Big Ten women's basketball matchup on Sunday in Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes (13-4, 5-1) also got 16 points from Shayla Cooper, who was 4-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc. Her four makes were a career high and helped snap a nine-game winning streak for the Boilermakers.
The victory allowed Ohio State to pull into a three-way tie with Purdue (14-3, 5-1) and Maryland for first place in the conference standings.
Mitchell finished with 27 points and six assists.
