Everything that we have heard since the end of last season seemed to indicate an even competition between Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett for the starting quarterback position.
Urban Meyer explained his decision to start Cardale for week one during his post game press conference after the win at Virginia Tech. “He (Cardale) was ahead. Then J.T. really closed it, and almost nudged back. But the way I looked at it…Statistically it was about identical, 64% compared to 63%. Cardale finished the season as the starter, and that kind of starting thinking for him to not take the first snap, he had to get beat out.
