Quarterback J.T. Barrett passed for 211 yards and a touchdown and ran for 96 yards. Ezekiel Elliott closed out his college career with four touchdowns, catching a pass for 30 yards and rushing for 149, giving him a season total of 1,821, third-best in Ohio State history.
Turning point
Elliott’s 47-yard touchdown run with 6:37 left in the third quarter. Notre Dame had cut Ohio State’s lead to a touchdown moments earlier. But Barrett engineered a quick six-play, 75-yard drive capped by Elliott’s romp that put the Buckeyes ahead 35-21.
Repercussions
OSU, No.7 in the Associated Press poll, should make a dramatic rise in the final vote because four teams above it were pelted in their bowls.
