Ohio State vs. Michigan State | Run game, defense deliver windblown win

EAST LANSING, Mich. — It will go down as a win in the wind, though the College Football Playoff committee, which had Ohio State second last week, will parse a one-point victory Saturday over heavy underdog Michigan State.

In the third quarter, the Buckeyes gained a touchdown from Mike Weber to take the lead, and in the fourth, Chris Worley intercepted a Michigan State pass on an attempted two-point conversion that kept the Spartans from retaking the lead.

Otherwise, there was a whole lot of hitting with Ohio State left standing.

The stars

Weber gained 111 yards on 14 carries, becoming just the third Ohio State freshman to top 1,000 yards (1,046), joining Robert Smith (1990) and Maurice Clarett (2002).
