EAST LANSING, Mich. — On a cold, windy and sometimes snowy afternoon at Spartan Stadium, Ohio State used its ground game and a questionable decision by Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio to pass on a two-point try for a 17-16 victory over the Spartans.
Too many times, Michigan State shot itself in the foot, killing crucial drives and keeping the lofty dream of a 1998 repeat — when a 4-4 Spartans squad coached by Nick Saban toppled the No. 1 Buckeyes — just out of reach.
Shining moment
Michigan State gave its late-arriving fans a lesson on the importance of punctuality.
