Ohio State vs. Michigan | Desperately seeking offense

Related Topics: Quarterback, Wilton Speight

The big question leading up to the clash between playoff contenders Ohio State and Michigan was who would start at quarterback for the Wolverines, junior Wilton Speight or his backup John O’Korn.

The question was answered when Speight, who did not play last week after being injured in a loss to Iowa two weeks ago, took the field for the first play of the game and then played an effective first quarter.

The Wolverines had the better of the action as Speight completed 7 of 9 passes for 85 yards. In all, Michigan finished the quarter with 120 yards to 62 for Ohio State, but the Buckeyes had the only real scoring opportunity, and they failed to cash in.
