No. 3 seed Ohio State (22–9) knocked off No. 1 seed Ball State (20–9) in straight sets Saturday in Muncie, Indiana, to claim the program's 18th MIVA tournament championship and first since 2018.
The Buckeyes topped the Cardinals, 27-25, 25-17, 19-25, and 25-19, dispatching the defending MIVA tournament champions on their home court to secure OSU's 11th consecutive win, the longest such streak for Ohio State since the 2017 team opened the season with 19 straight wins on the way to claiming the national championship.
The win gives the Bucks the rubber match as the two teams split with each other in the regular season.
