During a unique time, Ohio State's commencement ceremony will be equally unique.
In light of the social distancing measures and restrictions on large gatherings, the university will hold a massive virtual commencement ceremony, featuring Apple CEO Tim Cook as the speaker.
The live-stream will take place at noon on Sunday, May 3 – the ceremony's originally scheduled time – where approximately 12,000 diplomas are expected to be awarded with graduates receiving their degrees by mail.
“We are so proud of everything you have accomplished -- and how you have stepped up and remained strong during this time of uncertainty,” Ohio State president Michael Drake said in a video announcing the event.
