Ohio State Takes Top Spot in ESPN's Team Recruiting Rankings

With two commitments in the last week, Ohio State has surpassed Miami for the top spot on ESPN's 2018 recruiting class rankings. The self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports updated its rankings on Wednesday morning.

The Hurricanes have had quite the resurgence on the recruiting trail under head coach Mark Richt, landing commitments from 17 prospects so far this cycle. Of those pledges, 13 are considered four-star prospects by ESPN and three are three-star prospects. One of Miami's commits are not yet ranked by the recruiting service.

Ohio State, meanwhile, surged into the lead behind recent commitments from four-star defensive end Andrew Chatfield and four-star linebacker Teradja Mitchell.
