COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Utah went down and Ohio State moved up.
Well, the Buckeyes couldn't actually move up. They've been ranked No. 1 in both the Associated Press poll and coaches poll all season. But with Utah's loss to USC on Saturday night a competitor for No. 1 votes was eliminated, and Ohio State gained a combined 15 first-place votes in the two polls this week.
Ohio State received 39 of 61 first-place votes in the Associated Press poll on Sunday and 49 of 63 in the coaches poll, pulling in a total of 88 first-place votes, with five other teams dividing the other 36 first-place votes.
