Perhaps the brightest star of Ohio State's defense this season has left the team's game against Purdue with an injury.
Following a third-quarter play against the Boilermakers, cornerback Denzel Burke limped off the field and began to be evaluated by the Buckeyes' training staff.
After some discussion, Burke was taken into Ohio State's medical tent.
Trainers then escorted Burke to the team's locker room. He has not yet returned to the Buckeyes' sideline.
Following Burke's exit, freshman Jermaine Mathews entered at cornerback before being replaced by Jordan Hancock when Sonny Styles took over his role at nickel.
