Ohio State qualified for the NCAA women's golf championships on Saturday, finishing third in the Stanford Regional to secure a spot among the six teams to advance out of the regional.
The Buckeyes' three-round total of 23-over-par 875 was well behind co-leaders Stanford and Southern California (4-over 856) but still good enough to move on to the championships, May 20-25 in Eugene, Oregon.
OSU made its move in Friday's second round, jumping from 10th place to third, and the Buckeyes held their spot with a team round of 7-over 291 on Saturday.
Rio Watanabe was the top individual for the Buckeyes, shooting a 2-under 69 in the final round to finish tied for sixth at 1-under 212 on the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.
