It took a pass break up in the back for the end zone by Eli Apple on the final play to preserve a 34-27 victory for Ohio State on Saturday against Indiana. Who saw that coming? Not the Buckeyes. They were nearly blindsided by a fired-up and previously unbeaten Indiana team and by their own mistakes, from three turnovers to untimely penalties, to an inconsistent offense. But the streaks — 18 wins overall, 25 wins in Big Ten regular-season play, Ezekiel Elliott’s 10 games of 100 yards or more rushing — stayed intact.
Obvious stars
Elliott’s 274 yards rushing tied him with Keith Byars (1984 against Illinois) for the second-best game by an Ohio State running back.
