Ohio State came back Tuesday night after dropping the first game to George Mason to win the next three and post a 22-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-21 victory in an NCAA Tournament play-in match in State College, Pennsylvania.
The Buckeyes (29-3), a third seed, advanced to meet No. 2-seed UCLA at 8 p.m. Thursday, also at Penn State’s Rec Hall.
Nicolas Szerszen led the Buckeyes with 20 kills. Miles Johnson added 17 and was credited with 40 total attacks.
In the first game, Ohio State fell behind early before rallying for a 14-11 lead. George Mason retook the lead at 21-20 before pulling away for the win.
