The second-ranked Ohio State men's volleyball team survived a late rally by Lewis to capture the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournament championship with a 25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 17-25, 15-12 victory Saturday at St. John Arena.
Ohio State (28-3) passed Ball State with its 15th MIVA tournament title. Conference player of the Year Nicolas Szerszen led the Buckeyes with 21 kills against the No. 12 Flyers (19-13).
Baseball
Ronnie Dawson had four hits, including a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning, to lead Ohio State past Illinois 9-1 in a Big Ten game at Illinois Field.
