Matt McHugh won twice and set a meet record, and Colin Zeng finished second in 3-meter diving by 0.15 of a point to lead Ohio State in the men’s Big Ten swimming and diving championships at Purdue on Friday.
The Buckeyes are second in the team standings after 14 events over three days, trailing Michigan 1,005 points to 855.5. Indiana is third with 845.
McHugh won the 100-yard backstroke in 45.07 to set a Big Ten meet record, topping the mark of 45.11 by Indiana’s Eric Ress in 2011. McHugh also took the 100 butterfly in 45.
