Ohio State batters took advantage of six pitchers for Alabama-Birmingham, collecting six extra-base hits and 15 hits overall for a 12-3 win in a nonconference baseball game at Bill Davis Stadium.
Craig Nennig and Troy Kuhn had three RBI apiece, and Grant Davis had two for the Buckeyes (29-15-1), who pulled away from a 3-3 tie with four runs in the fifth inning and four more in the seventh.
Starter Ryan Ruggles lasted only one inning but was the only pitcher for the Blazers (19-25) not to give up a run. Matt Calvert, who pitched two innings, took the loss.
