Ohio State received a commit from cornerback Kendall Sheffield on Tuesday. Sheffield, who was once a member of the Alabama football team, spent last fall at Blinn Junior College in Texas. What does this commitment mean? Sheffield is regarded as one of the best JUCO prospects in the country and most people expect him to make an immediate impact for the Buckeyes next season. Though Ohio State has pulled in an elite defensive back class for 2017, Sheffield’s experience is sure to help him win a starting spot opposite of Denzel Ward next year. If his on-field production matches the high expectations, don’t be surprised to see Sheffield as a one-and-done type of player.
