Home comforts helped catapult the Ohio State wrestling team to its first Big Ten championship since 1951 when the Buckeyes split last year’s team title with Iowa in St. John Arena.
Two weeks later, OSU won the NCAA championship for the first time as Logan Stieber became only the fourth wrestler in history to win four individual national titles.
Stieber has graduated, but the Buckeyes enter this weekend’s Big Ten tournament led by returning sophomores Kyle Snyder — the reigning world and U.S. freestyle champion — and Nathan Tomasello, the defending NCAA and Big Ten champ at 125 pounds.
