A 2017 standout checked out Ohio State over the weekend, and the timing couldn't have been better.
Thousands of screaming Ohio State fans weren't the only ones in Columbus for the Buckeyes' come-from-behind win over No. 8 Iowa, as a few highly recruited hoopers also made the trek to Value City Arena. Headlining the list of recruits in attendance on Sunday evening was Cleveland East Tech standout junior point guard Markell Johnson.
Johnson, a 6'1, 170-pound, four-star prospect, earned his offer from Thad Matta's crew in late January. Although the Buckeyes are relatively new to Markell's recruiting party, many in the scene believe the Buckeyes could now be the team to beat out for his commitment.
