The injury-depleted Ohio State secondary will get a boost this week with the return of sophomore cornerback Damon Webb from an unspecified suspension.
Webb has been out since the third game. He was the Buckeyes’ nickel cornerback in victories over Virginia Tech and Hawaii and was credited with one solo and six assisted tackles.
With defensive backs Cam Burrows (foot) and Erick Smith (knee) out for the season, Ohio State’s depth in the secondary has been thin.
Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said that Webb resumed practicing on Monday. Ohio State plays Minnesota on Saturday night.
“Damon is a guy who was playing well for us, a guy we have a lot of trust in and it’s a big plus as well as having him available for special teams,” Meyer said.
