The way things were going right for the Ohio State offense on Saturday in a 49-28 homecoming win over Maryland, it almost slipped notice that running back Ezekiel Elliott was still shy of extending his streak of 100-yard rushing games entering the fourth quarter.
He eventually moved over the mark, but it came on his last carry, a 16-yard touchdown run with 6:38 to play. Elliott wound up with 106 yards — pushing the streak to 11 games — on 21 carries, with two going for TDs.
“Yeah, that was definitely something I was kind of thinking about,” Elliott said.
