Ohio State named former women's basketball star Kelsey Mitchell and former heavyweight and national champion wrestler Kyle Snyder as its 2017-18 Athletes of the Year on Monday.
Mitchell is the 11th women's basketball player to earn the honor. Snyder extended the wrestling team's streak to five straight Male Athletes of the Year and is the first three-time Athlete of the Year in university history.
Mitchell finished as the program's first four-time All-American and the NCAA's second all-time leading scorer with 3,402 points. She added 497 career three-pointers, which is 56 more than any other player in NCAA women's basketball history.
