The surging belief among the Ohio State men’s volleyball team that it is the best in the country actually crackles through the phone in the voice of Buckeyes coach Pete Hanson.
“Why not us? Why not Ohio State this time?” Hanson said. “Our record has proven we’re as good as anybody.”
OSU can prove it’s the nation’s top best volleyball team Saturday night by adding one more victory to its 30-3 record and 22-match winning streak.
The No. 3-seed Buckeyes play top-seed BYU (27-3) in the NCAA tournament final at 8 p.m. Penn State. ESPN2 is televising the match live as OSU seeks its second national title to go with its 2011 championship.
