There is a familiar clock inside the Ohio State men’s lacrosse locker room. Every minute, the Buckeyes can look up and be reminded of just how much time remains until they face Michigan again.
This year’s countdown has some extra meaning. Ohio State will play the Wolverines (3-7, 0-2) today in the “Showdown in the Shoe” at Ohio Stadium as losers of six straight but with a chance to end its longest losing streak in 26 years and, in the process, rekindle hopes of an NCAA Tournament bid.
“Certainly as a Buckeye, you appreciate what this week means, but before you even enter this week, you have to reflect and understand where we’re at,” coach Nick Myers said.
