In the final news conference of the season, Ohio State coach Thad Matta was asked whether he planned to use his available scholarship for next season.
He unequivocally said yes, and now it looks like we know why. Tuesday night, the Buckeyes issued a scholarship offer to Andre Wesson, a senior at nearby Westerville South who just helped lead the Wildcats to the Division I state title. His brother Kaleb, who is verbally committed to Ohio State for 2017, posted the news on Twitter on Tuesday night and indicated that the two are a package deal.
The Buckeyes were slated to return their entire team for next season until freshman Austin Grandstaff transferred out of the program in mid-December, freeing up one spot.
