Ohio State men's basketball | Mickey Mitchell's season on hold awaiting NCAA clearance

Freshman forward Mickey Mitchell cannot compete in games for the Ohio State men's basketball team because he has not been cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center, Ohio State announced.

OSU released this statement from athletic director Gene Smith: "Freshman forward Mickey Mitchell has not been cleared to compete for the Ohio State men's basketball team by the NCAA Eligibility Center. He is eligible to practice but not compete until the issue is resolved.”

The 6-foot-7 Mitchell, of Plano, Texas, was part of a highly rated class that also included guards mean A.J. Harris, JaQuan Lyle and Austin Grandstaff and forward/center Daniel Giddens.
