Ohio State is still waiting on the NCAA Eligibility Center to rule on freshman Mickey Mitchell, and coach Thad Matta said there’s still no timeframe for a resolution on Mitchell’s status.
“I’m not sure they have (Mitchell’s) best interests in mind in terms of this situation, but no (update),” Matta said today. “The hard part is you can’t pick up the phone and call. We’re just sort of waiting it out. I don’t know what the timetable is.”
Mitchell enrolled for summer courses and went through the entire preseason with the Buckeyes but never was cleared by the NCAA to participate in full team activities.
