Ohio State men's basketball | Mickey Mitchell, A.J. Harris join exodus out Thad Matta's door

Forward Mickey Mitchell is planning to transfer from Ohio State after playing one season, multiple online reports indicate.

Described as a "point-forward," Mitchell was viewed as a playmaker who can help distribute the ball and create offense.

He averaged 12.8 minutes, 2.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 23 games. His playing time increased after sophomore forward Jae'Sean Tate was sidelined by shoulder surgery in February.

After sitting out the first 10 games, Mitchell was declared eligible by the NCAA Eligibility Center in mid-December. Sources indicated to The Dispatch that the reason for Mitchell's ineligibility involved compensation related to Mitchell's AAU basketball play in Texas.
